Title: How to Read Books Effectively for UPSC, NET, JRF & SSC | Study Tips from a JNU Scholar

Description:

Do you read a lot of books but still forget what you’ve read? Do you struggle with how to read books in a structured and productive way?

Hi, I’m Sandeep, a Ph.D. scholar from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and my pre-submission is complete. In this video, I share my personal, tried-and-tested techniques on how to read books effectively—especially if you’re preparing for competitive exams like UPSC, UGC NET, JRF, SSC, and more.

Reading is not just about finishing pages—it’s about how you read. Are you reading for pleasure, memory, or research? Each goal needs a different approach. Just like playing T20, ODI, or Test cricket—the game is the same, but the technique varies.

In this in-depth session, I explain:

How to select the right standard books (not just free PDFs from Telegram!)

The 4 powerful stages of reading: First Reading, Second Reading, Revision, and Test Practice

How to mark important points and build memory through active reading

Time management and subject rotation to avoid burnout

Emotional memory techniques to retain historical and theoretical facts

Why revision cycles and subject variation are crucial

And how to become self-sufficient in your preparation without expensive coaching!

This is not just a video; it’s a complete reading strategy that can change the way you approach books forever. Follow it consistently, and you won’t need any external tutor or coaching.

Introduction
– Why are you reading a book?
– Choosing the right book for exams
– What is First Reading?
– How to do Second Reading effectively
– Revision strategy after two readings
– Practicing with Mock Tests & PYQs
– Subject rotation for balanced preparation
– Final thoughts & emotional connection with books

If you’re preparing seriously and want to truly retain what you read, this method will help you succeed with clarity and confidence.
