Scratches on glass cooker tops are not uncommon. They make your cooker top look old and ugly.
I was cooking the other day. Food dribbled under the pan, heated up and burned into carbon (I was unaware this had happened).
I don’t like washing up, so I decided not to use a spoon. Instead I used a technique Chef’s call ‘Tossing’.
I tossed and shook my pan vigorously on the glass cooker top until I got weary and couldn’t toss anymore.
Once I had finished, I removed my pan and to my surprise there was a stupid amount of white scratches on the ceramic glass cooker top.
I rent, so I wasn’t worried about the cooker. I was worried about how I was going to cover this up so I get my full deposit back!
So in this video I test 6 ways to remove scratches from a glass ceramic stove cooker hob top and confirm which method is the best.

Why did you NOT test ceramic cook top cleaner/polish? Available everywhere, often shipped with a new cook top.
You need to use the right type of cookware as well… most cookware will say somewhere on the pot/pan or box it came in if it’s compatible with your stovetop. This is usually what causes the scratches in the first place. 😊
If I had to choose I wouldn’t buy another glass top, they are pretty but…. As soon as they scratch they don’t look so pretty anymore.
Can we cook after using car polish? Is it flammable once we turn it back on?
Many thanks for this video…..
I accidentally caught our front door spy hole when I was sanding the front door ready to repaint it and it made a right mess of it and you couldn't see through it at all (it was just white fog) and our neighbour said to use Brasso (liquid or wadding), so I gave it a try and it brought the glass back up to like new with no visible scratches on it at all. I was convinced I was going to have to buy a replacement one before I tried the Brasso, so I was really pleased.
When I needed to get some light scratches off our induction hob, I used Brasso again and it worked.
No difference whatsoever😂
I had one for 10 years never 1 scratch🎉on it. I get a Sampson and it's a piece of crap scratches like crazy and I only used the cleaner it requires I want to send it back cheap piece crap
So I just wasted 5 min of watching you how not to remove scratches 😂
Hi, I used a green dish scrub which is pretty rough, I'm always careful but made a terrible decision of using it, my cooktop now has terrible scratches. Please help
Thank you for sacrificing your stove top for us
