I Ate Lunch at Wetherspoons and I Was SHOCKED!

I went to The Montagu Pyke, one of London’s most famous JD Wetherspoon pubs — once the legendary Marquee Club, where bands like The Who, Bowie, and Metallica played.

I expected basic pub grub… but I was shocked.

For under £12 including a drink, I tried the American Burger with Guinness and the Spice Bag Chicken with Corona — and honestly, the food was way better than I imagined.

This is part of my Good Value Meals series — finding the best affordable meals across the city.

🎥 Watch to see why this famous Wetherspoon completely surprised me!

  1. Oh no not another food critic,,,,,This is a total copy og Gary's eats it's not fair to copy someone else, and being honest Gary has forgotten more about food that you have learnt….. And where did you get the bullshit about them two drinks costing about £15 in pubs…… There is your next poor review to do go to a pub order the same drinks a prove the £15 cost your claiming it costs in pubs.

  2. Whenever I have to go into London I go to Wetherspoon as the prices are only slightly more expensive than at home. I was pleasantly surprised! I'd really only had breakfast previously, which can be a bit hit or miss. I ordered an vegetable curry with a glass of wine on their deal for £13.90 compared to £10.58 – bargain! A large glass of wine in London was £6.05 and at home, £4.10, still a lot cheaper than elsewhere nearby.

  3. Tim Martin is obviously a very good business man. He knows that the best way to make money is sell it cheap, high quantity, good food and beer. Sadly, labour are what I would call greedy, jealous idiots who think they can milk the people of hard earned money. Well done Tim!
