I went to The Montagu Pyke, one of London’s most famous JD Wetherspoon pubs — once the legendary Marquee Club, where bands like The Who, Bowie, and Metallica played.
I expected basic pub grub… but I was shocked.
For under £12 including a drink, I tried the American Burger with Guinness and the Spice Bag Chicken with Corona — and honestly, the food was way better than I imagined.

Come on guys – it’s cheap for a reason. It’s not great. I had breakfast in one in Brighton – it was absolutely terrible, and lunch in one opposite MRI in Manchester – average at best. You can easily do better for similar money IMO
Some of it was a bit overlooked, and blackened? Well I'm going there deliberately then! That's just how I love it! And my mate Dave!
I've been to the Marquee. Much better maintained nowadays, and now I know that the Marquee came from a cinema originally! How many out of ten for the food and the drink? Well I'll leave That to YOU, since you're the one who TASTED it! But as far as the REVIEW is concerned, I'd give THAT a 10!
Good old spoons ive ad some great food and some not so good but I do return every so often value great most of the time
You're paying £8 at McDonalds, so you know…..
With the sauces and salt pepper you have to go to different points in the restaurant where it's free obviously you didn't look 😅
