I went to The Montagu Pyke, one of London’s most famous JD Wetherspoon pubs — once the legendary Marquee Club, where bands like The Who, Bowie, and Metallica played.
I expected basic pub grub… but I was shocked.
For under £12 including a drink, I tried the American Burger with Guinness and the Spice Bag Chicken with Corona — and honestly, the food was way better than I imagined.

We like their fish and chips.
My wife and I just been to Witherspoon's two meals, two drinks for £18. My local pub charged me £22 for just the main course. Total bill for 6 was £124.

9:01 shame you didn’t get a good ‘chip’ experience. I love their chips. I love Wetherspoons, it’s such good value for money. I eat out at some lovely ‘posh’ restaurants but I’m just as happy – sometimes happier! – going for a ‘spoons lunch. Their gourmet burgers are delicious! I don’t care that their food is mostly prepared off site or that it’s frozen chips. It’s a formula that works.
And I was so impressed to find that a wine I like (Villa Maria), which costs £13.99 a bottle in the shops is only £15.99 a bottle in there, or ‘free’ with a meal deal. It’s insane how they do this,

You can get sauce, salt and vinegar. They normally have it on a table. Just ask the staff
Many people hate Tim Martin because he supported Brexit, they spread lies such as saying all the beer is near the sell by date, simply not true.❤
If someone asks me about Wetherspoons, I'd tell them it's what you'd expect from pub food. There's nothing special on the menu, but what they DO do, they do well. I'd never sneer at a Wetherspoons meal, on the flip side, it's not somewhere I'm going to go for a "special" night out, if that makes sense.
It's a pub meal, done well.
It does not pretend to be hute cuisine it does however produce decent quality food a good prices. For those in our society with not a lot of disposable income they are a god send I'm sure, offering hot food, drinks a convivial atmosphere in a warm safe environment. The snobbish press slates it but if you like a decent beer Spoons support breweries and save some amazing old buildings that would have outlived a purpose. It is what it is and it is done well for the most part. Long live the Spoons.
They have stations with salt pepper and a selection of condiments, you have to fetch them yourself 😂😂😂😂
