Today we’re in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and I’m eating local Dominican street food for the first time! Moises is going to be taking us to some of his favorite spots to eat real Dominican street food!

Here are all the spots we tried:

Empanadas el Calvo (https://maps.app.goo.gl/KZPHu97VrUENyLY5A) – The best way to start your day is with an empanada, and this places makes some big and fully loaded empanadas. Price – 75 Pesos ($1.19) each

D’Mellos Pasteles en Hoja (https://maps.app.goo.gl/CTZ17S6bj9Kqit5Y6) – Next up we’re trying Dominican style pasteles, big tamales made from plantain steamed in banana leaves. Price – 150 Pesos ($2.38) each

Cafeteria Comedor Mary (https://maps.app.goo.gl/K7FvDNBDiDgBxzjA6) – This was one of the highlight meals of the day, an entire tray of Dominican food included rice and beans, stew, and an amazing avocado and banana. Price – 1,100 Pesos ($17.48) for everything

Pica Pollo Joa (https://maps.app.goo.gl/M952KbfZn6wAceaS8) – One of the greatest of all Dominican street foods is pica pollo fried chicken, legendary. Price – 400 Pesos ($6.36)

Picalonga en la Avenida San Vicente – Another night time street food in Santo Domingo is Picalonga, an assortment of meats grilled and fried. Price – 450 Pesos ($7.15)

Claudio Chimi (https://maps.app.goo.gl/4vCJ9CMJvcxYMNks9) – But the king of street food in Dominican Republic is the chimi burger, a unique burger creation and something you have to try when you’re in the DR! Price – 200 Pesos ($3.18)

Who the hell puts ketchup on an empanadas he can’t be really dominican, sorry dude we don’t put ketchup on a damn empanada haha , they have a new secret sauce that you can dip it in but we don’t put no damn ketchup on it lol. That man messing up our culture with that mess. We put ketchup on pasteles. I’m from the Dominican Republic and I ain’t met one Dominican that puts ketchup on empanada
