It is generally considered a hard instrument to play.
As far as size:
Linda Rhonstadt is not the only small person with as big voice
Look around, both genders Smallpeople of both genders can have big voices!!
Linda made a lot of musicians careers. She is a mega-talent.
This video is a perfect example of why I always look for live performances of favorite songs/artists.

I watched the documentary about Linda … I had no clue how incredibly varied her music and range has been. Incredible singer and so tenacious. Went against the grain and rocked it every time.

The original Blue Bayou by Roy Orbison is great too. Orbison is the best male pop singer ever. Of course he did not have the unlimited diversity of style as did Linda, but no one ever did or has done.
Elizabeth, your next assignment is the album Trio by Linda, Dolly Parton, and Emmylou Harris.
All those nuances are present on the release record. She duplicates them exactly.
Came from the Ann Wilson Crazy On You video, and what strikes me about Ronstadt's belt is how pretty it is. Even when she's going balls-out, it has this sweetness to it.
That's a pedal steel guitar, common in country music. The Eagles used to be her backing band. There seems to be no concusses on who was playing pedal steel in this video.
