Innovation in marketing isn’t always a straight line to success. Sometimes, it’s a wild experiment like Pepsi, trying a new product like Crystal Pepsi. One of the most ambitious (and infamous) product launches in soda history. Imagine taking the familiar taste of Pepsi and making it clear, a bold move meant to represent the future of purity, health, and innovation. But how did it really go? Let’s just say… not quite as planned.
This video humorously captures the marketing mindset behind revolutionary ideas that sometimes miss the mark. It’s a reminder that branding, consumer perception, and product positioning can make or break even the most creative campaigns. Whether you’re a marketer, entrepreneur, or business strategist, this clip highlights how thinking “too futuristic” can lead to unexpected lessons.

Genius!
I loved that stuff. As a kid I’d get it when I could.
I think crystal pepsi couldve worked if it was HEAVILY marketed well – like saying coke has colouring which actually isnt too good. But at the same time, it ruins the credibility of normal pepsi, and they would not be able to go back if it didnt work
You get it in Japan or was it crystal coke ? I saw it some time ago. Still no competition against pocari sweat .. and yes it tasts salty. 😂😂😂
You've seen Chris Kohler's content, I see.
I've always been curious to try it
Feels like you stole this from that Kangaroo guy..
