  1. This was the first video that pulled up when I searched "how to hula hoop". I was getting SOOOOOOOO frustrated because as hard as I tried, the hoop just kept falling to the floor. At first I blamed it on my non existent hips and ass, but I kept at it. I was REALLY struggling to keep my shoulders stationary. I was FINALLY able to keep the hoop going for about 2 minutes, after putting my arms straight over my head (which helped keep my brain from telling my shoulders to move). So if that's what I have to do to be able to hoop, then arms straight up in the air it is ๐Ÿ˜‚ I should also say that I probably shouldn't have started with a weighted (2lb) hoop.

    The reason I decided to try hooping is because I'm on a medication that causes weight gain (I'm on methadone. I was a heroin addict for 12 years and just hit my 10 YEAR sober mark), and I'm still nursing a healing broken foot. So I needed something low impact. I also have a fist size hernia above my belly button, so I purchased a hernia belt (similar to a waist trainer), and so far, while wearing the hernia belt, the hoop has not bothered my hernia at all.

    I really hope hooping helps me shed some pounds. My start weight is 165 and my goal is about 120 (my start weight when I got sober). We'll see what happens. Fingers crossed ๐Ÿ˜Š

  2. Yeah, I think I would just stick with the whole hoop on my arm. Do you guys ever do that? Put the hula hoop on your arm and spin it around spin it around my right arm and then I put it on my left arm by putting them together, then I do it with both of them. I put them together again and then I just do itis easy.
