  1. WARNING! Change that top left filter at your own risk. It's crazy how hard I had to push to get the new one to set. I thought I was going to break the housing or break my arm. Dear LG, I sincerely hope you have updated and improved the design since my unit was made.

  2. DIDN'T HAVE TO UNPLUG WATER LINE OR SHUT OFF. THANK YOU Viceb7 You Tube poster. THANK YOU FOR LETTING US KNOW TO TAKE OUT TOP SHELF TO REACH FILTER BETTER AND NOT HAVING TO SHUT OFF WATER LINE. LG PLEASE redesign your refrigerators. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!

I have had my LG refrigerator for years, # LF25978ST. Today I took out the filter we had from Home Depot. I had that one for years. I just didn't replace it. I must have remembered how horrible it was to change it from original LG filter.

I bought two refrigerator filters from Amazon this time around. They came today. Same type of one as the Home Depot, FML-3, HDX.

I removed the water filter. Tried putting new one in. It wouldn't work. My boyfriend tried it didn't work. We actually got into a fight about the stupid water filter. My son tried it would not work. The first filter got damaged because of trying to get filter in and was bent because it got misaligned when trying to take out the Home Depot filter and putting the new one in.We all three aldo tried filling a cup with water but nothing came out. However, My son was persistent and able to manuever and line the 2nd filter up. He right clicked and was able to lock in after a few attempts with the cover. Personally I was so frustrated reading that you MUST KEEP A FILTER in at all times and worried we weren't able to replace it. Also upset that I wasted my money on the first filter since it was bent and had to be thrown away. But since my son was able to line up the filter. Right click it and locked it in, it worked. Of course you still have to sit and run water for 6 to 8 minutes to flush the filter.
