Absolutely horrendous actions towards people … for money, greed , wealth??? What is it about a group of people who have done such evil to so many others for centuries all over the world ? No wonder they want this history erased. Unfathomable iniquity.

On the plus side, it's encouraging to appreciate the significant progress (in certain way) of humanity over the last 400 years, and especially over the last 100 years. Child labor, e.g., was common in the early 1900's. Humans ARE progressing, but it's not easy. There's always a certain number of people who oppose changes even when the changes have been shown to benefit the country.
Besides the immorality of slavery and how they were transported in such appalling conditions, it was not a good business practice. If most of your "merchandise" is destroyed, i.e.: dead, there is no profit in it. So why do it? It's more like the Europeans and later Americans enjoyed torturing and brutalising those Africans and was the main purpose and whoever survived, that was a bonus …for…. to be sold as slaves. Barbaric is indeed the correct term.
