  1. What I never understood was if the slave traders wanted their 'cargo' to be successful when they reached their destination then why were the conditions so appalling? Instead of having slaves commit suicide and catching diseases on the ship, why weren't the slaves health conditions being respected? So, less cargo per trip would've meant more slaves being successful when they landed because the trip would've been manageable. It shouldn't have been so cramped and inhumane. The slave traders didn't think like this though.

  2. Human slave trade is something that will probably never go away, as its profitable and abusing the weakest people is something that commonly happens even in the best circumstances where you wouldnt expect it ; sex trade, workers, if there are many people in desperate situations they always get abused and taken advantage of.

Humans are usually only really capable to look out for each other in groups of approximately 100 people.
Anything above that each human just becomes a number, a faceless someone and an individual cannot deal with all of these people.

You see that in towns, very large families, companies and cities ; if stuff gets too big, all the people you knew before quite suddenly become faceless others.

And if you give some of these faceless others a bad label, you can stir up all kinds of evil thoughts and ultimately actions that people would never think they are capable of.

  3. The implication here is that this trade was the biggest and worst in history . Yet we know it was not because the muslim slave trade lasted longer and enslaved more and left many more dead.
Also, currently there are more slaves today than the atlantic slave trade.
