Cabbage Beef Casserole… a hot dish for a cool night! There seems to be some controversy between “hot dish” and “casserole”. Hot dish is supposedly layered and casseroles are mixed but I am not buying it. In the South, if the recipe has several ingredients and it is served hot… it’s a casserole. 😂 The simplicity of this recipe makes it so versatile. It could be a side or shine as a meal! I have a similar recipe, but it calls for beef stock and canned tomatoes sauce, chopped cabbage , ground beef and onion. The cabbage is chopped small and everthing is mixed together before baking.
* Hint…I use the bagged coleslaw mix from the produce section. It’s all chopped for you and also contains a bit of carrot ( basically a short cut )
