  1. I had a uniquely odd recruiting story. When I was in college, I answered a Craigslist job listing where a group of us gathered at a rented out office space to "interview" for CutCo, a knife MLM. They then had us sit in chairs while this lady joylessly cut random things: Tomatoes, rope, ground it against a rock to then cut another tomato. Absolute silence and a neutral face the entire time. They then went on a dry spiel about the potential earnings and, after, pulled me aside to say I "stood out" to them as somebody with potential… something they seemed to have told everyone. I almost fell for it too until my mom did some more research on it and saved me from making a fool of myself.

  2. I was driving Lyft and I had a young kid who was in my car telling me he was getting ready to quit his job because he had his buddy were starting this vitamin selling business and had just bought a ton of product. I felt so bad for this kid because he’s probably 20 maybe 21 and has just no idea he’s about to be screwed. I didn’t say anything, I think some people just need to learn the hard way.
