MashaAllah Adnan Rashid
Jesus appeared to Saul/Paul on the road to Damascus primarily to commission him as an apostle to the Gentiles and to stop his intense persecution of the early Christian church. The event marked a dramatic, life-changing transformation in Saul's life.
Specific reasons and significance include:
To Appoint an Apostle: Being a witness to the resurrected Christ was a prerequisite for being an apostle. Jesus' appearance made Paul a legitimate witness of the resurrection, a foundational element of his later authority and writings.
To Halt Persecution: Before the encounter, Saul was a zealous Pharisee who actively sought out, arrested, and imprisoned followers of Jesus, whom he considered heretical. In the encounter, Jesus asked, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" which made it clear that persecuting His followers was the same as persecuting Jesus Himself.
To Spread the Gospel to the Gentiles: During the event and through subsequent instruction to the disciple Ananias, Jesus revealed that Saul was His "chosen instrument" to bring the message of the Gospel to non-Jewish people, as well as to kings and the people of Israel.
To Demonstrate Transformative Power: The encounter served as a powerful testament to God's grace and ability to change even the most unlikely individual. Saul, once a fierce opponent, became one of Christianity's most influential and devoted evangelists.
To Affirm the Resurrection: The appearance provided undeniable proof to Paul that Jesus was alive and had been raised from the dead, which was a core component of Paul's preaching for the rest of his life.
When Jesus says, in Matthew 5:18, that "not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished," he means that the Mosaic Law retains its full authority and purpose until it is completely fulfilled in and through him. Jesus did not come to abolish the law, but to bring it to its intended goal and completion.
Here are the key reasons behind his statement:
* Fulfillment, not Abolition: The core of Jesus' message is that he came to fulfill the Law, not destroy or invalidate it. The Greek word for "fulfill" (pleróō) means to "fill up," "complete," or "bring to full expression". This implies that the Law had a temporary, preparatory purpose that would find its ultimate realization in Christ.
* The Law as Prophecy and Shadow: The Old Testament, including the Law, was prophetic and a "shadow" of things to come. It established patterns and systems (such as the sacrificial system, priesthood, and temple rituals) that all pointed to Jesus as the Messiah. When Jesus offered himself as the perfect, once-for-all sacrifice for sin, he fulfilled the purpose of those ceremonial laws, making them obsolete.
* Emphasis on the Moral Core: Jesus affirmed the lasting validity of God's moral principles (e.g., the Ten Commandments) while challenging the superficial, external observance emphasized by some religious leaders. In the Sermon on the Mount, where this statement is found, Jesus deepens the Law's requirements, teaching that sin involves the heart and not just outward actions (e.g., anger is a form of murder, lust is a form of adultery).
* God's Unchanging Word: The phrase "until heaven and earth pass away" emphasizes the permanence and truth of God's word and moral standards. The Law stands as God's perfect measure of righteousness, exposing human sin and demonstrating humanity's need for a Savior, until God's entire redemptive plan is accomplished.
In the Christian understanding, Jesus' life of perfect obedience and his sacrificial death on the cross fully satisfied the demands and penalties of the Law, bringing the old covenant to its intended end and inaugurating the new covenant. Believers are no longer under the Mosaic Law as a legal system for justification, but are guided by "the law of Christ," which is based on love for God and neighbor and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
This verse (Matthew 5:18) is central to understanding the relationship between the Old Testament Law and the New Testament message of Jesus.
The verse reads: "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled."
Here is a breakdown of what the terms mean and the theological significance of Jesus' statement:
History and Present Events Help Bolster The Truth.
Why did God become human to send himself when he has, and had always, been sending prophets since the start to spread the message and revelation? Why now did He come Himself after sending so many Messesngers and Prophets as is the way of God's revelation from the beginning of time? Why did God speak to Moses AlayhiSalam and command Him and help Him on how to deal with
Firaun (Pharao) rather than go Himself like He appearently did with Jesus AlayhiSalam? The christians made A Prophet into a God with pagan twists and roots, and many a times has the devil done this with either Messengers or the pious people of humanity withing many different societies throughtout mankind's history and even today you see it. Within Islam they tried it with a companion of The Prophet, Prayers and Peace be upon Him, named Ali, May Allah be pleased with Him, which He Himself rejected with severeness. The Prophet Muhammad, Prayers and Peace be upon Him, Himself worried and warned for His Ummah and made sure to let everyone know He is just a Prophet and Slave of Allah so that He is not worshipped like how Jesus AlayhiSalam was made to be worship. Studying history allows you to see the patterns much clearly and with the revelations of Allah as a pure guideline, everything becomes clear and you see that in history and present day as well. Barak Allahu Feek. May Allah guide us and keep us steadfast, Ameen.

Mr Adnan . May Allaah grant n protect you with your knowledge.
I am so ashamed that I don't know what I would have said if this question was posed to me. I know basic Islamic teachings
They keep trying but they only lie
How the hack would you know, Mo Shmo didnt come until 600 years later!!!!
The apistle of Peter to James wasn’t written by Peter, and is thought to be written in the 3rd of 4th century – charlatans often claimed to be Peter
you see the difference between both , the christian guy just makes a claim but without any factual elements of the quran or hadith or tafssir that defends paul at all and didnt also prove that the hate of paul is just a creation of modern time
