Join the Time Team as they uncover the secret history of Radcot, a tiny hamlet in Oxfordshire with a massive secret! What starts as a simple dig for a lost Norman castle, mentioned in an ancient chronicle from 1142, quickly becomes a thrilling journey through centuries of English history. The team’s geophysics survey reveals intriguing shapes beneath the surface, but the truth is far more complex than a single castle. This site, known as “The Garrison,” proves to be a rare archaeological jackpot, containing evidence of a Roman settlement, a Norman castle from the 12th century, and even a 17th-century English Civil War fort.

  1. I love the way they scrape the mud off the goblet with a metal(?) scraper, instead of just dipping it in a bucket of water and using a soft brush on it.
Are they trying to show us how skilled they are at scratching it?
