As a training officer in any capacity your main objective is to train your personnel to be the best. It’s not about color, race or nationality. It doesn’t matter if you’re educated, rich or poor. As citizen trying to become a soldier you are equal because you know nothing about being a soldier. In the end when the training is over you’re still equal because you are no longer citizens but soldiers.

The more you sweat in training the less you bleed in combat the sgt doesn’t see black or white he sees soldiers who need training and he provides that because the person shooting at you in combat doesn’t care about your feelings until you are feeling nothing
He had sympathy for a second and felt that maybe he should take it easier so they wouldn’t hate him, then he realized who he was and what was best for them… his job was to make them soldiers and given them a chance to survive and/or accomplish their goals. He knew them hating him was his cross to bear for their benefit. The exact opposite of what a Leftist degenerate would do… a Leftist would have made them his friends not caring the he was consigning them to death and defeat for his own gain.
When my dad was in basic in WW2 they had a sheep farmer from Idaho that didn't know right from left. Drill Sgt made him carry a big rock in one hand. The commands were " To the rock, march!" "Away from the rock, march!"
