This animated adventure retells the story of the lost daughter of Russia’s last czar. The evil Rasputin places a curse on the Romanov family, and Anastasia and her grandmother, Empress Maria, get separated. After growing up in an orphanage, Anastasia encounters two Russian men seeking a reward offered by Empress Maria for the return of her granddaughter. The trio travels to Paris, where they find that the empress has grown skeptical of imposters.

the realization that shes reuniting with her sisters and father for the one last time made me teary how she didn know those were the souls of people who died during the war

it took me a long time to realise that Anastasia wasn't just remembering her family as they came out of the paintings- but after seeing "Sinners" I realised Anastasia was actually a griot and her voice was powerful enough to summon back everyone she lost out of the afterlife for one final dance/goodbye.

Man tis movie soo old… I was a kid but barely remember it… I only remember the little bat… but my mother showed the movie again cuz she found the song, I barely rmemebered it so sad bout her real story… I'm like isn't she the theories missing princess of tat Russian royal family tat got killed… and my mother says yes… I'm like tragic… she sings pretty though
Hard to believe she lived one of those stories being a long lost princess it's sad her story ended so sadly 😭
I like to think this was her families last goodbye to her…
