my original copy that is 40 + years old sounds way better than this, If this is the 40 anniversary album sound I will not buy it. I just bought the Linda Ronstadt greatest vol 1 and vol 2 and it suffers the same thing it is not even close to org. I have other anniversary editions of other bands and the same issue. They lack sharpness and clarity. seems like a common issue. I am 71 so I do know how they should sound. but given that this is one of the best bands at the time.

With you being an Air Force brat you can relate to these guys. They were Air Force brats themselves that met each other while their parents were stationed outside of London.
I just saw America a couple of weeks ago. Dewey Bunnell did a great job keeping this stuff alive. I heard that Alligator Lizards were cloud formations.
