You've seen Andy Williams before when you reacted to the Righteous Brothers singing Unchained Melody on the Andy Williams show. He was the guy in the middle talking about how they got their name. He joked about he and his brothers not being able to use the name suggested. This song was released in 1962, I have heard this song all my life as I was 9 years old then.
Crooner Andy Williams was most popular in the 1960s and 1970s, a period when he had a successful weekly variety show, numerous hit albums and singles, and a massive recording contract. His fame was cemented by his television show, The Andy Williams Show, which ran from 1962 to 1971 and won multiple Emmy Awards. His signature song, "Moon River," which he introduced at the Oscars, became synonymous with his career.
Andy Williams was a popular crooner in the '60s. This was one of his best-known songs, along with "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year." He had a great Christmas special every year. This song really captured the spirit of the early 1960s; that hopefulness and longing for adventure with a person to love. Andy married French actress Claudine Longet in 1961, and they had 3 children together. That was her in the picture with him they kept showing in this video. After their divorce in 1975, she began dating a ski instructor, Spider Sabich. After she shot Sabich in their Aspen ski lodge, she turned to Andy for protection and comfort, and he stood by her all during the trial. She was only convicted on a reduced charge because the police mishandled a fair amount of evidence…and her celebrity status almost certainly figured into her light sentence.
By the way yes The Bee Gees has a sister she is the oldest her name is Leslie & she has twins also one named Barry.
His Christmas album is the first one I pull out every year. I’m sure you would recognize “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”.

One of my favourite songs Andy Williams sang was ‘The Summer Knows’ from the movie ‘The Summer of ‘42’. There have been many versions of this song, sung by many talented artists, but for me, Andy’s warm, mellow voice just surpasses them all. One of the most beautiful, unique voices we’ll ever know. Thanks for the memories Andy Williams, RIP. 🇦🇺
