This album got me through Infantry Training School, at Camp Pendleton, in Nov.-Dec. 1977, after Marine bootcamp at MCRD San Diego.
Personally, I always thought Christine was the better singer. I think Stevie had the same opinion.
I was there when fleetwood mac came to phoenix for the "show must go on" tour.
They opened with the chain, and "songbird" with Christine alone on a grand piano was the final song.

Comment too late: in the "dark ages" we had a toy (?) called "clackers" which were two balls tied with string that we "clacked"….so that kind of explains the dangly cg bits on the album cover (not) !
You seemed to struggle a bit with how to, exactly, describe Christine's vocal on this song. The best word for me would be "intimate".
