Nothing wrong with your take; the song provokes thought and emotion which is what good art is supposed to do.
This song makes me think of the Manson Family for some reason.
I think the blue bus took the recruits to boot camp.
The meaning of The Doors' song "The End" is complex and has multiple interpretations, with vocalist Jim Morrison suggesting its imagery was meant to be universal and subjective. A prominent interpretation, especially after Morrison's live performances, is an Oedipal narrative involving patricide and incest, where "killing the father" can represent rejecting authority, and the mother can symbolize nature or ultimate reality. Other interpretations include a breakup, personal struggle, or the end of life itself, with the lyrics originally conceived about a personal breakup with a girlfriend before evolving into its more mythical and abstract form.
Sigmund Freuds idea that children want to kill there Father and sleep with there mother
He said the kids were insane, then described an insane kid killing his whole family and a girlfriend I assume.
when he was doing most of his writing he was also reading some deep authors like Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, Friedrich Nietzche, Aldous Huxley, and the French poet Arthur Rimbaud, there are a lot of different elements in this particular song that were likely taken from these authors, as far as the blue bus, that could have been pulled from anywhere but if I had to guess it was likely pulled from The Big Blue Bus public transportation that is based in Santa Monica and covers a chunk of LA including Venice Beach which was where he would sometimes hang out while he was in Film School before the band was founded,
Jim Morrison was distinctly himself, like no other before or since. IMO
Don't forget Jim was a poet first, blues/ rock singer 2nd. All members of the band contribute songs
