Saying that every stablecoin is backed by one dollar is still bogus, because there's NOTHING backing every dollar. (Dollars used to be "Silver Certificates," backed by actual silver reserves.) A paper dollar (or dollar-denominated bank account) has value only because everyone else in the economy "believes" it is worth a dollar. People selling goods or services accept dollars ON FAITH that others in the economy will accept them for payment of goods and services, as well. If that belief is broken (as when there is a run on the banks), it doesn't take long for everyone to see that there are NO TANGIBLE ASSETS behind those paper dollars.
