In Star Trek lore, humans first achieved warp drive on April 5, 2063.
That’s the date when Dr. Zefram Cochrane, working in Montana after World War III, successfully launched the Phoenix, the first human-made ship to travel faster than light. The flight attracted the attention of a passing Vulcan survey ship, leading to first contact between humans and Vulcans later that same day — an event celebrated in-universe as First Contact Day.
Still missing the basics: space itself is illusory.
Nuclear cavitation. We will travel thru space, inside water. Scientists created plasma, by compressing water, with soundwaves. Warp drive on a very small scale. We can't go the speed of light, but the space around us can.

It is generally believed that NO THING, MATTER OR CHARGED PARTICLE cannot move through the Universe faster than its charge could propgate. Period. Hard stop!
Misinformation.
Bob Lazar already explained how to move at insane speeds. Look up his white board video. We know what’s done but not exactly how it’s done. Need stable element 115 for starters. Supposedly the US military has copied the aliens and made a craft using a nuclear reactor called the TR3B. It makes it’s own gravity. That is the key.
Recently I saw a video that puts a bit of a damper of this in the form of a sort of "sonic boom" barricading as we fall out of warp the collapse of the field would cause a catastrophic "photonic boom" that would destroy the planet we warp to.
Most ppl won't believe my comment. But some may. Many years ago, me and a friend watched a massive boomerang shaped UFO execute complex maneuvers (tracing two polygon circles in the sky and zapping off at incredible acceleration into space). Over the years I have researched what kind of travel it might have been executing. The evidence says that it was high dimensional travel expanding already existing wormholes. The research also says this is the most probable 'faster than light' travel, as it does not require the enormous amount of energy that warp travel does (My research says that warp travel would require more energy than exists in the universe). Research also says two enlarged wormholes would be needed to navigate. The craft we witnessed did trace two polygon circles in the sky and descend below them both and zap off through the center of both. This aligns with the wormhole method of high dimensional travel. My friend and I saw it. Take the info or dismiss it. But I have nothing to gain making this comment, and will just be hit with the insults that will inevitable follow, as they always do when I tell people.
First contact or finding a Stargate is more reasonable than that slightly more intelligent apes will get FTL.
