President Donald Trump called on Republican Senators to implement the “nuclear option,” which would entail ending the filibuster, in an effort to end the now 31 day government shutdown.
In a pair of late night Truth Social posts made on Thursday, Trump accused the Democrats of having “gone stone cold ‘crazy.'”
“THE CHOICE IS CLEAR — INITIATE THE “NUCLEAR OPTION,” GET RID OF THE FILIBUSTER AND, MAKE AMERICA GREAT,” Trump wrote in one post.
House Speaker Mike Johnson was asked about Trump’s suggestion to end the filibuster.
“It’s not my call,” said Johnson. “I don’t have a say in this. It’s a Senate chamber issue. We don’t have that in the House. But the filibuster has traditionally been viewed as a very important safeguard. If the shoe is on the other foot, I don’t think our team would like it.”

They dont make Puerto Rico a state because they can't make money on its own states.. Puerto Rico can't even except cargo ships in their own ports from other countries or islands until they by pass The island of puerto rico first to then dock at Florida to then unload cargo and reload that same cargo to then set sail back to Puerto Rico and then Tax Rape the island 30% plus for cargo thats a few days maybe a week old so fresh is out of the question. If the first cargo ship that bypassed the island the 1st time would've just docked in Puerto Rico from the beginning the cargo is fresher and tax are way under 20%, But nooooo it has to be U.S SHIPS TO DOCK AT P.R PORTS SOOOO THEY FK THE ISLAND. WE ARE LITERALLY GETTING TAX/ATIONED WITH NO REPRESENTATION. WE GOT NO ONE IN THE SENATE TO REPRESENT PUERTO RICO, THE ISLAND CANT VOTE FOR A PRESIDENT BUT WE GET NO HELP.. PLUS TRUMP LEFT A $72MIL DOLLAR DEPT TO THE ISLAND FOR A FAILED GULF COURSE.. so Puerto Rico been getting screwed by the U.S for decades and yet we are a strategic piece of land for their military they use our men in their military but we get no say.
