Mung Bean Tikki Chaat
Made this super yummy sprouted moong tikki chaat today β it turned out so good! π Crispy from outside, soft inside, and that curd with chutneys just makes it next level. Itβs healthy, protein-rich, and honestly feels like a guilt-free street food fix!
Ingredients for Tikki:
β’ 1 cup sprouted moong
β’ 1 carrot (roughly chopped)
β’ 2 green chillies
β’ 1-inch ginger
β’ A handful of coriander leaves
β’ 1 boiled potato
β’ 1 tbsp flaxseeds
β’ 1 tbsp sesame seeds
β’ Β½ tsp turmeric powder
β’ 1Β½ tsp coriander powder
β’ 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
β’ 1 tsp chaat masala
β’ Salt to taste
For Assembling:
β’ Β½ cup curd (beaten with a pinch of salt & sugar)
β’ Sweet chutney & green chutney (as per taste)
β’ Finely chopped onion, cucumber & pomegranate
β’ A pinch of chaat masala
β’ Jeera sev or nylon sev for garnish
Method:
1. Add sprouted moong, carrot, green chillies, ginger, coriander leaves, and boiled potato to a blender. Pulse β donβt make it into a paste.
2. Transfer to a bowl, add flaxseeds, sesame seeds, turmeric, coriander powder, chilli powder, chaat masala, and salt. Mix well.
3. Shape into small tikkis and cook on a greased tawa until golden and crisp on both sides.
4. In a serving bowl, spread a layer of beaten curd.
5. Place 2 tikkis, drizzle both chutneys, add onion, cucumber, and pomegranate.
6. Sprinkle chaat masala and top with sev.
7. Serve right away β itβs healthy, tangy, and so satisfying! π
π Extra Tips:
β’ Add 1β2 tbsp besan or breadcrumbs for extra crispness.
β’ A pinch of roasted cumin powder or amchur makes it more chatpata.
β’ Mix a little mint chutney or black salt into the curd for that chaat-style taste.
β’ Lemon juice adds a nice freshness to the tikki.
β’ Top with microgreens, crushed papdi, or roasted peanuts for crunch & presentation.
