I watched a Youtube video where a woman broke down how this song was written using the same rhythm of iambic pentameter Shakespear used in his writings. She explained how nearly all music is written on a 4 beat, and this song is written on a 5 beat, which she thought made it so memorable. The rest of what she said was over my head, but holy cow, TS really out did herself on this.
"The rhythm of iambic pentameter is a heartbeat, de-dum.” This rhythm consists of five ‘heartbeats’ or iambs per line: This rhythmical pattern creates a unique musicality and flow in Shakespeare’s plays, making the language more dynamic and expressive."

This is about Travis. Did you see his number on the door? The megaphone , he is known for his hands , catching footballs , lovee the scenes going through time , when a person falls in love in the middle of their lives like Taylor and Travis ( they were born the same year he in October and she in December ) they are 36 this year they were 33 the summer they met approaching 34, both stars in their fields and he went to a concert with a friendship bracelet with his number on it. I am smiling when I hear this song because Travis's side of the story going to that concert was he was " butt hurt" because he didn't get to meet her at the concert. They were both looking for each other. Taylor's video is her point of view and it goes with the title of the album " Life of a Show Girl" . The lyrics are so rich in in meaning and metaphor.
I figured with your theater background that you would appreciate this one. She wrote and directed this entire video 🫶. She’s such a talent. Screw the haters.
