In this video, Louee from Survive History tells the story of Tom Plunket, a soldier in the 95th Rifles and perhaps the greatest sharpshooter of the Napoleonic Wars. Armed with the accurate Baker Rifle, Plunket reportedly shot 20 enemy soldiers from the roof of a convent while fighting the Spanish in Buenos Aires. But he is most famous for his exploits at the Battle of Cacabelos in 1809. Lying down in the snow, he shot the French Général de Brigade Auguste-Marie-François Colbert at a range of more than 200 metres, cementing his reputation as one of the best ‘crack shots’ in the Duke of Wellington’s army.
