  1. I’m a direct descendent of the first settlers of Holland, Michigan. There were eight that came to Holland, Michigan back in February 9, 1847. Three of them. My Grandfather’s and one Grandmother Grotenhuis who was cooking for them during this time when they survey the area. One of my Grandfathers was not married when he came to Holland, Michigan. Last name was Lunkeet.

  2. Very well done, I applaud your effort. I am a retired Michigan public high school teacher and have been looking for such an effort. I also own the shards from the Michigan Ohio border which I believe some buckeyes tried to dig out, and when they couldn’t they took a sledge hammer to it in 1995. Last time I was there it is all completely gone(2014)

  3. Some information was not correct in the video and equally important, important facts left out. No mention that Kalamazoo College was the first established college in Michigan and Kalamazoo Public schools were the first in Michigan and in America to have taxpayer funded free education k-12. Also you referred to Native Americans as Indians. They have no connection to Asain Indians. More should have been said about the Michigan Stonehenge and also how Michigan was once part of Canada too. University of Michigan was started by a religious group and it started in Detroit and later relocated to Ann Arbor.. Overall a nice video but several errors. Michigan was also a French speaking state and first in the USA to require English to be taught in schools.
