  1. so you glossed over some details about Genghis Khan. while he did burn cities and kill entire populations of cities, he usually gave them the chance to talk first to avoid bloodshed. you mentioned how the Shah had his emissary killed and his head sent back but Genghis gave the Shah another chance for peace only for the Shah to do the same thing again. by all accounts, Genghis was reasonable enough that if a leader and their people showed respect and chose peace, he wouldn't do anything to them and even would let them continue to live as they had before he showed up. compared to others on this list, he could be considered the most reasonable of them all
