We'd get shot with a few bursts. We would respond with thousands of dollars worth of round, tens of thousands of dollars worth of artillery, and millions of dollars worth of fixed wing and rotary wing munitions.
All while the enemy had exfil'd long before we could even figure out where we were being shot from.
Platoon and all its scenes beat this. It was beyond realistic including radio jargon and uniform.

The enemy is usually not seen in most combat. Youre in a tick with people usually 300m away and you hunker down bring in armoured fighting vehicles or call in arty.
