Well I agree, and just to be a smart ass Marine who has been in combat several times.. did you know that's what an ambush is? It's quick, and you're not supposed to be seen. And you create all hell and tons of chaos!!
In a near ambush or an L shaped ambush-you’ll never see it coming and once you enter the kill zone, the only way to get out is to charge into the face of the enemy to demoralize them-and hope you make it.Jungle warfare is exactly like this scene-rounds coming in and the enemy is never visible.
Dang… . I feel bad for the war vets that are actually watching this. As if they weren’t traumatized enough by saving private Ryan, now they’re traumatized by forest Gump. We need to make our vets un-traumatized somehow like… this isn’t good.
Terrible movie

And that’s why vets have PTSD and high anxiety in particular situations.
We have NO f*cking clue when sh*t is going to go down – there is no warning or preemptive sign – it. Just. Happens.
Like a surprise.
A really, really bad surprise.
I see enemies back in the forest. Not sure how you missed them there
