The hive ad has me creasing every time 😭
If Henry's son Arthur had lived to become king woud he have been Arthur I or II?
So Henry thought that God was punishing him for marrying his brother's wife, and that divorcing and re-marrying (without dispensation from the Pope) would fix everything?
Elizabeth Woodville refused Edward IV until married… like grandfather like grandson.
Elizabeth 1st was no great queen. She was a tyrant like her father.
If only they'd known, the determiner of the sex of a child isn't the woman, but the man. Ah, the ignorance of the past. Interesting that Anne was convicted largely on rumour, but Diana Spencer was proven to have had seven affairs while married to the now King Charles III and never has suffered the same scorn as Anne, or Camilla for that matter. In fact, Diana is hailed as a "Queen of Hearts" largely on her own self identification.
Such an utterly fascinating episode.
I never get bored learning of Tudor history.
Only the English would bring about an end to the separation of church and state and call it freedom.
Yeah, but she may never had said the Tilbury speech, right. No contemporary record of it.
Wow, I finally found an Episode I do not like from these guys…
The assumptions used here to defend Anne from her charges, and holding Henry responsible as if he ordered the charges be placed against her goes against all knowledge of the times. Henry was not sole ruler with all power, he was 100% under sway from his advisors and councilors.
IF and I do mean IF Anne did not do any of the things she was accused of by witnesses it was due to Henry's council members that hated the Boleyns…Cromwell was not exactly a saint and was using his position to kill off many.
