The history of Switzerland is not just a story about picturesque mountains and neutrality. It is the dramatic journey of a people who, in the harsh conditions of the Middle Ages, managed to unite, stand firm against powerful neighbors, and build an independent confederation. This path began in small Alpine communities that resisted Habsburg rule and step by step formed a union of equal cantons.
In this video, you will see how the struggle for freedom became legend — from the figure of William Tell to the famous battles of Morgarten, Sempach, and Glarus. We will show how the Swiss, without centralized power or a large army, managed to win decisive clashes, expand their alliance, and ultimately challenge the mighty Burgundians.
Special attention will be given to the phenomenon of the Swiss mercenaries, whose bravery and combat mastery made them a symbol of military strength for centuries. You will also learn how Swiss neutrality began to take shape in those early times — and why it became not a sign of weakness, but a source of inner strength and unity.

good video, you know the idea of a secret meeting, is that it is not documented.
Wow, my Swiss hearth became just a little bit proud watching your video.
I think it's worth to mentioned that most forces who fought for Switzerland were called up farmers and regular people, not professional soldiers. One thing you could have mentioned is when the other cantons joined. The last cantons only joined 1815, while the newest canton Jura formed in 1979, when it separated itself form Bern. And just some months ago, after decades of political struggle a village switched over from Bern to the newest canton of Jura.
The Swiss flag is also a giant plus

It is said, I've heard, that in the wake of the Templars demise in 1307, many escaped the assault and imprisonment that befell DeMolay. Some had ventured into the Swiss territory. It would explain the enhancement to the fighting prowess and of the banking establishment. Of course, it's rumor. But…..
The strength of 5000 men.
The story of Arnold Winkelried at the battle of Sembach is an interesting one. He is perhaps on par with Willhelm Tell as a legendary figure in the stories of Swiss struggle for independence, there is even a memorial statue of him near Sembach. According to legend, in the battle he cried "I will clear the way for you, take care of my family!" before throwing himself on the Austrian pikes. A more morbid legend claims his last words were actually "Hey you in the back! Stop pushing, asshole!"
I've long sought a video like this, adding battles and cantons like a jigsaw. This is a fine start till canton 8, leaving room for 3 more volumes🤗
