I’m in New York City today and I’m heading to a German restaurant for the first time on the channel. The restaurant is called Rolf’s and has had many scathing reviews online about low quality food. Time to see if it’s as bad as people say.

At 11:44 I saw you check your knife to make sure it wasn't a Popsicle stick. The pork loin looked dry and stringy. Horrible.

For all the good stuff the Germans have come up with, food never really comes across as one of them.

Weisswurst with gravy, mash and sauerkraut… 🤢 First look at the dish composition and I’m out. (Weisswurst fyi is not pretty since it’s boiled, but it is delicious. It’s usually served for a special breakfast, as it’s a fresh sausage that needs to be eaten asap, with sweet mustard and pretzel, often a wheat beer on the side. The skins not meant to be eaten at all, the sausage is tradionally “zuzzelt” or sucked out, or a bit more elegantly cut in half and peeled.)

The absolute best hamburger i ever had was at outlaw grill in Sedona. just a little hole in the wall. i ordered the southwest burger. came with sweet potato fries. ive had many hamburgers in my life n this was TOPS!!!! They serve other stuff but Ive only had the southwest cheeseburger. theres another restaurant across the street where the views are just absolutely amazing but food is way more expensive the burger was mediocre at best. I know you're in NYC but if you ever venture out west try it

The Village Lanterne in Lindenhurst, Long Island, New York has the best German food and there's no debate.
