I cry every time I hear that part as well. It's such a beautiful and powerful song about his mother staying strong in her faith after suffering a brain aneurysm that left her paralyzed for the remaining 27 years (10,000 days) of her life.
my father had a stroke and was in persistent vegetative state for 8 years, he finally passed away 4 years ago. This song burns me , moves me , destroys me every single time in a very personal way
