The Dive ’n Surprise toy uses clever physics to make Ariel magically pop out. As the weighted clam sinks, tiny holes let water slowly fill the shell. The deeper it goes, the higher the water pressure pushing in and compressing the trapped air. Once the force inside is strong enough, it overcomes the mechanical latch holding the clam shut, releasing Ariel. She spirals up to the surface because her asymmetrical shape and buoyancy cause uneven water flow, creating a twisting, graceful ascent. All of this happens without batteries.

Is there like a paper origami version of this?
Instead of using buoyancy and pressure it uses the drag to spin also not in water
My sister would have love this toy when she was little too.
Oh i thought there was a button in there 😂
The tail is like a propeller
I'm more upset that now they have transformers that transform on their own.
I had invented a little Titanic ship for my fish tank. You filled it up with fish food that looked like little people. It would float along until it hit the side of the tank, for instance, and when it did, the ship would break in half and all the little fish-food-people would spill out and the fish would be fed. I was a kid, and it was a fun project at the time. My friends liked it. I might still have it around somewhere.
That's the kind of toy that doesn't work well enough in a bath but you always forget to take with you when going to the pool.
