The Dive ’n Surprise toy uses clever physics to make Ariel magically pop out. As the weighted clam sinks, tiny holes let water slowly fill the shell. The deeper it goes, the higher the water pressure pushing in and compressing the trapped air. Once the force inside is strong enough, it overcomes the mechanical latch holding the clam shut, releasing Ariel. She spirals up to the surface because her asymmetrical shape and buoyancy cause uneven water flow, creating a twisting, graceful ascent. All of this happens without batteries.

But you are still little! You want one for your birthday?
Unless you're early 40s then you can find it from the local JUNK "food" store giving them away as part of their promotions. Just like any other Disney, they usually came in Crappy "meal" or something.
No amount of science can overcome yr inner child❤
VT would be the one to dive deep into this.. 🤪
Double physics in one toy
In my home
There are tree seeds that do the exact same thing as Ariel, only they spin while they fall down, rather than rise up.
Me too – where was this toy when my daughter was little.
How much electricity could you get from just dropping a rock tethered to a chain spool spinning a generator 🤔 yeah it's potential energy, but it's not like you're gonna need to get it back 😅
