they did indeed 'focus on what they are good at'… ripping diners off for poorly cooked way overpriced food and the usual sad UK service levels for an imposed 12.5% …. you should have just had the beer and the ox cheek as a small plate – the rabble shouty noise would put me off on entry, sounds and looks like a low level rowdy pub.
The pulled pork on the mic was the highlight for me !

michelin guide with chipped bowl lol that tray where they serve the meat needed a proper scrub- i think is ok the price for the amount of meat you get not cheap but the total price yes it is high!😀
The ox cheeks didn’t need shredding and frying in breadcrumbs. Just needed some horseradish.

Way over priced as you said for the below par grub you were served. I was in Southampton about a month ago and had a meal at 'The Jetty' / Harbour Hotel. Not cheap but the quality service and decor etc were top notch. To coin a phrase 'give it a go'!
£94 for that is ridiculous. A check back is a fairly minimum requirement when you’re serving food, and if chain pubs can do it, surely they can?
There's a reason Marco Pierre thinks the Michelin Star and the guide became worthless a long, long time ago.
I would have asked for the leftovers and said intentionally they are for my dog x
