My mom used to lisen to her a lot. Most her music is a bit melancholy but yes it's stories of her life or people around her and a mix.
She does have other songs. She has TONS! I'm not familiar enough to know her better ones.

One of the lyrics that hits hard in this is the "I had a feeling I could be someone". In another song this would be about being a big success, rich and famous, especially in a song talking about fast cars. In this it's someone pretty much seeing simply qualifying as a person as an aspiration.
