This video dives into the often-overlooked struggles of startups that create clever innovations, only to be overshadowed by Apple’s own features. It highlights stories like f.lux, a blue light filtering app that inspired Apple’s Night Shift, and Pebble, an early smartwatch pioneer, which was eventually eclipsed by the Apple Watch. Along the way, we explore how Apple’s decisions have stifled these innovations, including unique apps like Knock and Lala. It’s a fascinating look at how small companies with big ideas face the daunting challenge of competing with tech giants.

And where is Brydge in all of this?
Really good segways in the outro to next video and also good segways into sponsor segment and next topic, always keeps me curious about more
Maybe Grammarly as well now with Apple Intelligence. But it might still be okay since it's used by windows and android users.
Fitbit was the reason Pebble died. They bought Pebble to get the patents, then Google bought FitBit, and then they killed FitBit. Pebble was fantastic because of the e-paper display, and It had a strong foothold in the market because of the cost and battery life. I almost wish I still had my Pebble because I have to charge my Apple Watch every day.

nice Video!
there is a great macos flux app, i use it to this day
It isn't right to be mad at Apple for stuff like implementing Flux, especially since it can marginally lower the chances of things like cancer.
