Marine Corps
Yes this close. The never show going to the pit. Also 3 drill instructors during the day. In the Corps, you have a rifle, pistol, or weapon, never call them a gun.
I went through Marine boot camp 50 years ago in Oct 1975. We had a recruit who was probably worse than Pyle. I’d relate a story about how problematic he was but it would take too long. Suffice it to say that he peed his pants because he couldn’t properly asked permission to go to the head. He was last seen doing the seabag drag to turn his gear in before being sent home.
Literally, the only difference is you wear briefs now, instead of boxers, and they don’t hit you….as much
I miss the Corps every day
My dad was in the Army during the Korean war (hostilities ceased about a week and a half week before his ship out). Anyway, he could recite all the pertinent things he was drilled in during boot camp all the way up until he was in his death bed. His could spit out his GI number faster than he could our phone number.
