The biggest chunk of my wardrobe budget goes to high-quality outerwear, too, coats and jackets. A jacket like a blazer is that critical third item that makes an outfit great and long coats are all that can be seen in winter, they have to be great-looking and warm, wool or cashmere. The next item is probably leather, not just footwear, but clothing and accessories, too. It’s relatively cheap to get great layers like jeans and tops, but I spend more on the first two categories, where quality is everything.

The M and S check jacket with corduroy collar you featured recently I stalked online and always out of stock, went to my local store on Friday and there it was waiting for me.
