The US government owns about 650 million acres of land, if we value it at $1,000,000 an acre that is $650 Trillion, the land alone would cover the debt of $40 Trillion (T) many times over ( why $1 million an acre because of the hidden assets underneath). The Baaken area between US and Canada holds about 3 trillion barrels of oil. 2 for US and 1 for Canada. At $60 a barrel that is worth $180 Trillion, $120 T for US and $60 T for Canada. Based on this alone both the governments , US especially, should not play games with Gold and Bitcoins or any other coins. America does not have a debt problem it has a consumption problem,
The only real option is to drastically cut military spending and rase taxes on the wealthy.
Half of military spending is retirement pay. That needs to be shifted from defined benefits to 401K's like everyone else.
