Oh hanoi hanoi.

I’m in Hanoi with my family in time for Vietnamese lunar new year year, têt.

The sound of moped engines vibrate in the air and angry grocery shoppers haggle for the best produce to feed their family. Small plastic stools are sprawled across the city and hungry patrons slurp away. I’m on a mission to find the best street food hanoi has to offer and to share what I taste smell see hear feel with you in this beautiful city, This is 100 hours of Vietnamese Street Food in Hanoi.

  1. UPDATE: I've linked all the locations and pinned them onto Google Maps so they can be helpful for your next Hanoi trip! I've starred the ones that were my personal favorites (even though I enjoyed everything), but keep in mind that a lot of places were closed for Tết holiday, so my options were a little more limited. Nonetheless, I can assure you that even the "average" street stall with patrons eating will be better than any noodles you'll get anywhere else in the world. I apologize in advance for all the spelling errors in the video, promise I’ll double triple check next time 🙂

re: to panino/ panini statement, I was testing y'all 😉

  2. 14:41 almost 98.5% certain that the filling was minced pork, as beef is not the traditional filling as it commands a higher price as an ingredient for a dish that's traditionally sold as breakfast food. source: i'm made in Vietnam

  3. 32:00 the sauce is warm instead of cold because if you submerge meat fresh off the grill into cold liquid 2 things are gonna happen: 1. meat juice will instantly be sucked out leaving the patty dry and chewy as opposed to tender, and 2. all the grease will rise to the top and congeal there, not very presentable not to mention slightly gross
