  1. 👉🏼 Recipe details of Chikkar chole

    Ingredients-
    1. Chickpeas 250gm (soaked overnight or atleast for 8 to 10 hours)
    2. Potato 1 (halved)
    3. Onion 2 medium (finely chopped)
    4. Curd 1 cup
    5. Green chillis 2 (finely chopped)
    6. Ginger 2 inch (finely chopped)
    7. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
    8. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
    9. Garam masala powder 1 tsp
    10. Coriander powder 1 tbsp
    11. Anardana/Pomegrante seeds 1 tsp (crushed)
    12. Chole masala 2 tbsp
    13. Salt to taste
    14. Desi ghee 3-4 tbsp

    Method-
    1. In a pressure cooker boil the chickpeas with potato and salt to taste in water for 8-9 whistles (idea is to boil more than usual).
    2. Once the chickpeas and potatoes are boiled and the pressure is released, blend a laddle full of chickpeas, with boiled potato and curd to a smooth paste.
This blended paste helps make your chole creamier and tastier.
    3. Now in a kadhai heat desi ghee and add the chopped ginger and green chillis.
    4. Saute for a minute and then add the chopped onions. Cook for 5-6 minutes on medium flame until they turn golden brown.
    5. Once done add the blended chole-potato puree with all the dried masalas, chole masala and salt to taste.
    6. Mix well and let the masalas cook until the oil is released. This takes 8-9 minutes on medium flame. (Remember to keep stirring in between).
    7. When the masla is cooked add the remaining boiled chickpeas with water and mix well. (At this stage if the gravy looks thick you can add more boiled water.)
    8. Cover and cook for another 6-7 minutes so that the flavours seep in.
    9. Once done serve hot with kulchas and enjoy !!
