  1. Hey Kalle! I'm a long time follower of you and I love all of your videos, I've watched Exerlog and Timetracker playlists multiple times! Though sadly, my love doesn't include this series.

You keep saying "I can write that myself, but I'll ask AI to do it instead" which is always a red flag in development. At this point I'm pretty sure less than 1% of the entire codebase is written (or can be understood) by you. I'm not saying that to blame you or get you down, this is a warning from one developer to another. It's a dangerous path. I have scrapped 3 apps because I got lost and didn't understand what AI wrote after taking a few days break. And eventually you will too (if you haven't already).

So, please do what you're good at, code yourself! Coding with AI, this heavily, eventually gets you to a point where you feel like an impostor because it makes you think you can't code as "good" as the AI. If you're at that point I know I was, not too long ago I want you to know that it's bullshit. You only feel that way because you haven't used that muscle in a while. If you start using it again before it's too late, you won't lose it. I'm not saying "quit using AI completely", but some moderation would go a long way. At least for the parts that "you can do yourself".

I'm not AI-free myself either, but my questions are usually like "what would be the best approach to do X", or "do you see any bug or missed edge case in the code below", or "why does the code snippet below do X, while I want it to do Y?". This way of using AI both saves you time, and makes you use your muscle.

I also check out Coder Cal channel, but the videos are getting harder and harder to watch with all that AI copy-pasting. I realize that it's supposed to be more slow paced than regular "Hallden" channel videos, but there's not even any "content" to watch. Most of those videos go like: 1. type the prompt, 2. wait for the answer to generate, 3. copy-paste and tweak the code. There's not much difference between episode 24 and 67 other than your intro. It's like an infinite loop.

But when "you're" coding something yourself, there's something to talk about. "So I'm trying this approach now, let's see if it does what I want it to. By setting this variable here I will be changing the progress level of the slider bar.". I'm not a youtuber but I talk to myself while coding, more than you talk in those videos.

Again, I'm not saying these to hurt you, I'm giving my two cents as a fellow developer with 15 years of experience. Love you brother!
