Growing up I never understood people's dislike of turkey or their complaints that it's dry. I guess my family is just really skilled at cooking turkey or something because I don't remember the turkey ever being dry like that Popeye's turkey. I'd be pissed if I spent $60 and it turned out so dry.
Happy Thanksgiving Ms. Emmy!!! Ps. Love the long hair! 🦃 🌽 🍂 🍠 🇺🇸
I've been making Alton Brown turkey for years! Always so juicy & tender.
I followed Altons brining recipe a couple times and it was just ok. To me, injecting the meat is 1000% better. You can create your own flavors and inject it and butter or oil deep inside the meat. It's awesome!
The best and IMHO only good use for turkey leftovers is in either turkey or clubhouse sandwiches, although my partner likes it in his ramen. Other than that great video, love your enthusiasm.
Our Thanksgiving is in October. Our daughter couldn't make it home for it so it was just my husband and I. I cooked a Butterball breast that is cooked from frozen. We had lots of leftovers still. LOL
Uhm, where are you getting an 8$ turkey?
Nothing against Popeyes or anyone who buys a pre-cooked turkey. I just can't ever see myself doing it and especially not for that price. If I felt like less work, I'd cook a ham or beef roast. We try to mix it up and rotate the turkey and ham and occasionally a beef roast on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Thanks for the video. Maybe I will try brining my turkey this year.
Wait. Didn't Auntie already make a Popeye's turkey video?
AB was the Food King when I was in grad school. Undergrad ended with a "well. that's a fuck of an election," and then there were terrorists, "but it's not like this is an attack by a industrial state-actor. These are people identifying and exploiting weak points. I mean, yes, that's a fuck of a weak point, but it's not a systemic threat. Not like the carbon."
I'm degenerating into fables. But then we learned about his wife, and his voting, and wrote him off, even if I hstill have and love recipes I got from him. We followed the IC stuff, because I spent a week burning DVD-R copies of fully mastered DVDs of Japanese IC for my bestie, who I knew could do DVDs, but probably not bootleg shit.
I still tent a turkey like this. It's like learning the truth about the funny guy from grandpa's records, dad's jokes, and NBC's Thursday night. I fucking hate it here.
