You guys have been asking me for a while to dive back into the 90’s so here we are! Although, this was unintentional, I didn’t realise You Oughta Know was a 90’s song. As well as the requests for the 90’s, you’ve been asking a lot got Alanis Morissette. I don’t even know what to say right now. This was so unexpected yet so good at the same time. The whole ‘Break Up’ vibe to the song and the profound lyrics make this so much better. I have no doubt that Alanis Morissette has even more great songs like this. I am looking to forward to hearing is anything else stands out like You Oughta Know or if that was a one off.

If you really want a bit of revelation. What you see here is and evolution of her style. If you check out the "Too Hot" video, you get a better picture of where she had some from when "You Oughta Know" came out and you can see the transformation from her earlier days. Her music and emotions are often linked in a very substantial way. Not so much in the moment but in the creation. Her later music became more contemplative like someone who has past the angst of youth and is now reflecting on the events that have shaped their life. Her appeal is in her openness. Like reading an autobiography.
