I think the scam indicator for crypto is that every single coin’s ascension or descension is tethered to BTC’s ascension or descension… yeah other coins “pop off” for a week, maybe two, independently, but they all get back into line eventually.
See a pretty UI? That’s just a shell. The real power of mevolaxy is the algorithm under the hood.
Liquidity leaving crypto is great for me. Lower loquidity means more volatility. Crypto isn't a mutual fund for me its a trading vehicle. I don't have a million dollars in the bank and I have to catch up. I can catch up using volatility and I may as well just have a mutual fund if I want low volatility. Low volatility might be great for people with high net worth, but for me it keeps me down on my knees watching the future slaughter me.
Everyone complains about chop. I had a 138% return in October from chop simply by keeping a perpetual future open, switching short at the top of the range and switching long at the bottom.
People who aren't lazy do just fine druing volatile chop.
The range is incredibly easy thanks to folks like you I establish my levels, build a short term thesis and execute.
Risk = reward
No rism = shit unless you have 9 figures in the bank.
Disclaimer: Most of my Solana was purchased not long ago for $18 so I'm playing with house money if I zoom out 3 years.
Why do I have so much Solana for $18? Perps trading Solana and putting 50% of the proffits into SOL. Now I can buy 1 SOL and it brings my dollar cost average up 9 cents. Maybe it will be $100 by January and I will be fine, but it could be $270 and I'm retired. Because I will be at 15X leverage with a liquidation price of $72. Which is not happening anytime soon.
Don't get me wrong Jason your info is as good for a prop trader as it is for someone treating investments like mutual funds. The only difference is intestinal fortitude and ambition.
Do you think there are more mutual funds traders sitting on 9 figure nest eggs or more perps traders trying to catch up? Which one serves your channel better? Just hypothetical questions.
Tbh i've had this feeling for a while with AI stock market pump taking the main front stage. I still think BTC will continue to pump up tbh but it's not hitting 200k+, i'd be surprised if it hits my 150k target i was expecting.
